DAY 100

This morning I had my alarm set for 6:30, but Karin woke me up at 6:15 afraid I had forgotten about the bakery. Once I changed, I biked down there in the COLD! My ears and nose were both numb when I got there, ugh! 46 degrees this morning.

Anyways, I was supposed to work with Heleana this morning, she's the pastry woman, but she wasn't there and an old man was in her place, so I walked up to him and said "I'll be working with you today!" He looked at me and said "English... no." Ha, so I walked over to Alex (the baker) and asked what I should do, and he said I could help him again, so that's what I did.

On Sunday, as we were just getting back from our tournament, we passed by the soccer field and saw 2 ambulances just pulling in, and later found out that a big light pole had fallen onto a little girl and she was in the hospital... well, this morning I found out that the little girl is Heleana's daughter, and the pole cracked her skull and the doctor's are keeping her in a coma so no brain activity will go on right now. It's so sad :(

After I finished up at the bakery at 9:45, I biked back to the house, where I had a big bowl of cereal, and then took a 2 hour nap. Kelsey woke me up texting me asking if I wanted to meet her and Jen at the store, so I changed and biked down there. Then we went to another small store and then to the candy store. I did not buy any candy, but I so wanted to! I might be making a trip soon to the store to buy more chocolate covered nuts :)

After that, we biked back to the house. I had a small lunch, did a 15 minute workout on the elliptical, and then had to change and bike back down to the field for practices from 5-8.

It rained almost the whole time we were down there, but we stayed out and practiced anyways. A girl from France came and practiced today... she wants to join the team and is going to University in Vasteras. She was actually very good. I was impressed.

So, once practice was over, Wilma and I biked back. I showered and then made myself a sandwich for dinner.

I figured I did enough biking today to make up for not running.. but I've gotta find the motivation somewhere to run after my cereal tomorrow :)

28 days! :)

Day 98 & 99

Sorry for not blogging yesterday... but yall didn't miss anything important. This was my day in a nutshell: wake up, eat, run, read, watch tv, clean my room, do laundry, unload the dishwasher, eat, skype, read, go to sleep. BORING.

This morning I woke up at 8 so I could go outside and do a plyo workout since I ran long distance yesterday. After the plyo workout, I did a 4 minute high intensity workout with jumping jacks. I could see my breath outside it was so cold... 46 degrees. I hate it.

Anyways, I showered and ate and got picked up at 10:30 to go to IKEA in Vasteras. We spent about 2-3 hours there, then went to Stadium, which is a sports store, and then came back. I ate lunch once we were back, and then read until I had to get ready for practice.

At 5:15 I biked down to the field, catching the dang bugs in my eyes, mouth, and hair. It's so gross.. you get done biking and look down at your shirt and there are dead bugs all over you, UGH.

We had the girls practice sliding today and then did a round of BP and took a few grounders from me. Then I biked back and changed and fixed myself a sandwich and apple for dinner.

Now I'm enjoying some chocolate milk, skyped with my dad and Greg, and about to read a little and then go to bed. Gotta wake up at 6:30 for the bakery... will be there from about 7-10 tomorrow.

The countdown continues... officially out of the 30s and at 29 days! Tomorrow will be exactly 4 weeks left... pretty nice to think about considering I started with 18 weeks. CAN'T WAIT :)

Oh, and Happy 25th Anniversary to Mrs. Christine & Mr. Graham :)

Day 97, last day of tournament

This morning I set my alarm for 6:45 am so I could go for a run before we left for Örebro. I did a 30 minute run, got in 3.5 miles, and it started raining on me halfway through. It was raining enough to where I thought the games might get cancelled for today, but they didn't.

We left the house around 8:30 with all the girls and got to the field around 10:30. Kelsey and I decided not to dress out for the game since we were only playing one and the other girls needed the practice, so we just coached. The game was at 11:20 and only had a 55 minute time limit. The innings took so long that the time ran out in about the 2nd inning, but we had to play 3 and we ended up winning in the bottom of the 3rd, 12-11.

Afterwards, we packed up the vans and headed back, eating our packed lunches in the cars. We got back around 2:30, and I took about a 40 minute nap once I was unpacked and everything. Once I woke up, I showered and went to pick Kelsey up so we could go to the store and buy groceries for dinner. Karin told us at the game that she had bought maple syrup for american pancakes, so we decided tonight would be best to cook for everyone. We made a bunch of pancakes... we had 9 mouthes to feed, and we also made a fresh fruit salad with pineapple, blueberries, apples, kiwi, cantaloupe, bananas, and grapes.

They thought it was crazy that you put butter on the pancakes and then syrup... they are so used to eating their swedish pancakes with cream/ice cream and jam.

After we ate, Kelsey and I drove My to her dad's house about 25 minutes away, and brought Tove home so they both wouldn't have to take the bus so late.

We were going to watch a scary movie once we got back here, but we didn't know if the girls were already asleep and didn't want to wake them so we decided to save the movies for another night. I drove Kelsey back home and then came back and skyped with Greg and then mom.

Now I am about to go to sleep. This weekend has worn me out, I'm glad I get to sleep in. I've been looking online for some good workouts/cardio to do to give my workouts some variety throughout the week, so if you know of any good, fat-blasting workouts/websites let me know! :)

I hope yall had a great weekend! 1 month until I'm home :))) CAN'T WAIT!

Day 96, Orebro Tournament Day #1

This morning all the girls met here at the house by 7 am so we could drive the hour and a half to the field. This tournament was set up for the younger/less experienced girls to have a chance to play a lot, so the games don't count toward our semi-final standing. Kelsey, Jen, and I were the coaches for today. Kelsey and I only went in if the girls needed help or to give them a break, but Kelsey was only allowed to pitch in the first two games, and then after that she wasn't allowed. Our first game was at 9:30, which we lost 14-3 against Skovde. Kelsey went in to pitch to relieve My. The game only lasted 3 innings (they were all 55 minute time limit).

Our 2nd game was at 2:40, so we had a really long break in-between where we sat around eating lunch and relaxing. We won the 2nd game 15-0 in 3 or 4 innings. Kelsey pitched that whole game, with the exception of the last inning where My came in and pitched again.

Because we won that game, our next game was at 5. I caught that game and had the girl who had been catching DH for me. We lost 10-2 in 3 innings.

After the games, we stopped at Pizza Hut and ate outside, then drove the hour and a half back. We got back around 9:30, so I showered, went ahead and fixed my sandwich for tomorrow, and now I'm in bed getting ready to fall asleep.

We have one game tomorrow at 11:20, and that game will have a 90 minute time limit. We will leave the house at 8:30.

32 days til I'm home!!!!!! :)

Day 94 & 95

Sorry about not updating my blog yesterday... I was sick last night and forgot all about it.

Yesterday I woke up early so I could run a few miles before showering and getting ready to go to Uppsala with Jen and Kelsey... but after showering, I decided I was tired and didn't want to spend money, so I stayed home and watched tv all day.

At 4:45, I biked down to the field, and shortly after getting there I had terrible side pains where I couldn't even stand straight up. Finally, at 8 pm, I managed to bike back to the house to skype with mom to figure out what was wrong. I had a bowl of cereal around 9:30, and then went on to bed.

This morning I had to wake up to drive to the grocery store. The pain in my side was gone, but I had a slight upset stomach and headache... so instead of biking down to the field at 10 am, I went back to sleep for about an hour and a half, and when I woke up, I felt better.

I had cereal when I woke up, and then relaxed for the majority of the day. I had to bike back to the store around 4 to buy more stuff for dinner. Karin and Micke left this morning and won't be back til tomorrow so I was in charge of cooking dinner for My and Pontus. I made a cheesy chicken and broccoli casserole. It turned out pretty good.

Tomorrow I'm waking up at 6 am because we are leaving at 7 to go to the tournament. We have 3 or 4 games tomorrow... stopping in Vasteras to eat at pizza hut, and then have to go back on Sunday for a game or two.

These games will give the less experienced girls a chance to have some playing time and play different positions. I will probably have to catch half the games.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

Day 93, back in the bakery

So this morning I woke up at 3:45 am to get dressed so I could bike down to the bakery by 4:30 am. It was a little too chilly for me that early and was still dark and no one was out so it was a little creepy.

I stayed at the bakery til 9 am doing all sorts of stuff: sectioning off and weighing dough, rolling it out, putting it on this board and into a machine and rolling them into balls to put on baking sheets... using a machine to make the dough really thin, and then putting a thin layer of stuff on it, rolling it up, cutting it, twisting into cinnamon balls or twists; and a few other things.

Once I got back to the house I was starving since I hadn't eaten anything, so I had a big bowl of cereal while watching a Kardashian episode, and then I got into bed to take a nap. I didn't even get a 2 hour nap before I was woken up by justin bieber being blasted on the laptop upstairs and pots and pans banging around. So I went upstairs and made some coffee, got back in bed and watched more episodes online.

Once I got out of bed, I put on my running clothes and went outside to do a high intensity 4 minute workout where you sprint full out for 20 seconds, rest 10 seconds, and repeat until you get to 4 minutes. Supposedly it's a fat blaster and will have your body burning fat for the rest of the day.

Afterwards I grabbed some water and watched another episode while trying to catch my breath. Once I was done watching the show, I jogged the half mile to Kelsey's so we could plan practice, then I walked back.

At 4:45 I had to bike down to the softball field for the little girl's practice at 5, 2 girls were coming to practice at 6, and 3 other girls had practice with us at 7.

Once I biked back to the house, I showered and went upstairs to eat with Karin and Micke. We had grilled chicken sandwiches with pineapple and cheese. SO good. Then I skyped with mom and then court, chris, and chloe.

I'm about to head on to sleep now... I'm going to Uppsala tomorrow around 10 am with Kelsey and Jen, and we will be back before having to be down at the softball field at 5. It looks like the only chance I will have to run tomorrow is early in the morning before showering and leaving, or after being at the field for 3 hours, and neither option sounds good to me so tomorrow might be a day off :/ I've been lacking in the motivation department lately.

Hope everyone's having a great week! :)

Day 92

This morning after having a bowl of cereal, I decided to get my long run out of the way, so I went for a 6.25 mile run around 10. After I finished, I watched the movie, Something Borrowed, and LOVED it!

Then I watched an old episode of Ellen on TV, and then biked over to Kelsey's so we could figure out the practice schedule for tonight.

Once we finished that, I biked back and relaxed for about an hour and a half before biking down to the field by 5. We had a good practice with 5 of the girls, and we left around 7:15.

When I got back I showered and then fixed myself a sandwich and watched a couple episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians online :) Then I finished the chocolate covered nuts that I bought yesterday.

Now I am about to try and head on to sleep because I have to wake up at 4 am. I was supposed to be at the bakery by 7 in the morning, but the guy called Karin and said tomorrow I was working with the baker so to be there at 5 (originally they said 4 am, so I will wake up at 4 and once I'm ready bike down there). Hopefully since I'm getting there so early I won't have to stay until 10 like I normally do.

But needless to say, once I'm back at the house I will be taking a nap :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DAD!!! Wish I could be there for it... this is the 5th year in a row I haven't been home for my dad's birthday (4 years of college and now this).

Hope everyone has a great day!

Day 91

Sooo it's been rainy and chilly for like the past 5 days, with the exception of yesterday; therefore, I've been pretty lazy. After waking up around 9 this morning and having a bowl of cereal... I went back to sleep for a couple hours. My body was SO SORE from the games yesterday.

Once I woke up, I read/watched online episodes most of the day. Kelsey came over around 2 so we could plan practice... but we ended up having to reschedule the girls because it was thundering and lightning.

I did a couple small workouts inside consisting of jumping jacks, squats, pushups, abs, lunges, etc. Around 5:45 we ate dinner: swedish meatballs, salad, corn, and macaroni noodles with ketchup :) haha

Afterwards I watched more episodes on my laptop, then I was in the mood for chocolate, so I biked down to the grocery store to buy a bag of different chocolate covered nuts. I ate about half the bag once I got back... and then decided to go walk/run it off around the neighborhood. I was having fun dancing to my ipod all by myself while walking, until I realized people could see me. While walking I saw 3 big rabbits sprinting across the road, and a frog the size of my hand.

I worked up a sweat exercising, so I showered and then skyped with Greg and my dad. I was able to catch dad right as it was turning midnight here in Sweden so I wished him a happy birthday!

Now I'm just about to head on to sleep. Hopefully tomorrow will be nicer so I can get a run in and we can have practice.

37 days!! :)))

Day 90, Last regular season games

This morning I set my alarm for 8:30 so I would have time to get dressed, fix a sandwich for lunch, and have a bowl of cereal before having to bike down to the field for our games against Leksand.

We had to be there at 10 am, where we got the field set up, and then began warm-ups at 10:45. We won the 1st game 10-4. I played shortstop, and was lead-off batter. I hit 4 groundballs... 2 to 3rd base, one to the pitcher, and one to second base. I got on twice because of errors and scored both times. I didn't have any action at short in the first game. The 2nd game, I had 2 groundballs hit to me at short and a pop fly behind 3rd that I caught. I had a line drive to left field, a line drive to center, a walk, and a pop out. I scored 3 times in the 2nd game, I believe. We won that game 7-5.

We only needed to win one of those games in order to play the semi-finals at home... so we are definitely playing in Enkoping the weekend of September 10 & 11, and we are playing the same team. It's the best out of 3 games... and if we win 2, we go to the finals the weekend of Sep 17 & 18, and 24 & 25. We play the winner of the other 2 teams playing each other in the semi-finals... and the finals consists of best out of 5.

After cleaning up the field and changing out of uniforms, I biked back to the house. Once back at the house, I grabbed the car keys and went to the grocery store to buy some more apples and turkey for a sandwich. Once I got back, I showered and skyped with everyone, and then went upstairs to make a sandwich for dinner. I was able to skype with Greg, Grandma & Pepaw, Mom & Dad, and Courtney, Chris, & Chloe! Got the whole family in this weekend!

Now I'm finally heading on to sleep. I'm pretty exhausted from the games and will hopefully be able to sleep in late tomorrow :)

Night Yall!

Day 89

This morning I made my way upstairs around 10, had a cup of coffee and a bowl of cereal. Then I got dressed and drove the car to pick up Kelsey. We went to the grocery store so I could grab a couple things to make brownies for the concession stand at our games tomorrow. We also both bought hair coloring kits to dye our hair :)

After we left Coop, we drove to Ã–ob to buy conditioner for a cheaper price. Afterwards, we drove back to the house and colored our hair. We decided to use Karin and Micke's huge jacuzzi tub in their bathroom to rinse out the color, and while I was trying to figure out all the knobs, I turned on very cold water on 4 jets that were pointed right at me and they completely soaked the front of my clothes. I screamed, which made Kelsey scream, and then we just sat there laughing. We finally somewhat figured it out... still couldn't find how to make the water warm so we were rinsing our hair with freezing water. Once the dye was rinsed out, we dried our hair and were satisfied with the outcome :)

Once Fanny finished cleaning upstairs, Kelsey and I made the chocolate peanut butter brownies. I had a piece later on and they are DELICIOUS!

While the brownies were in the oven, I drove Kelsey back. It was raining all day so no bike rides today. I finally got bored enough, so I put on some warm clothes and went out into the rain for a sprint workout.

Afterwards, I showered and went upstairs to transfer the brownies into a container for tomorrow. Then I went back down to the living room to watch TV/play tetris on my computer.

We ate dinner, just me, Karin, and Micke around 8 while watching a movie with Mel Gibson called The Beaver (which was weird). We had salmon, potatoes, salad, and a lemon sauce for the potatoes and salmon that was sooo good!

Now I'm in bed, probably going to head on to sleep soon since I've got a double header tomorrow. We have to win at least 1 of the games tomorrow in order for us to play the semi-final games at home.
Wish us luck! :)

Day 88

Let's see.... this morning I woke up around 9:45 and went upstairs for my big bowl of cereal. While eating, I finished watching an episode of The Nine Lives of Chloe King on my laptop :) It makes me so happy that I finally found a website where I can watch shows from back home :)

Anyways.. once my cereal settled a little, Kelsey and I decided to go for a long walk as our exercise today. I figured my legs could use a small break since I ran 3 10Ks this week. As I was walking to Kelsey's to get her, an older gentlemen pulled his car in front of me and started talking to me in Swedish. I said "I'm sorry.. I don't speak Swedish." He then said, "Do you play golf?" When I said no, he simply drove away, LOL.  I didn't really know what that was about, but Karin said there's a golf course close by so he was probably trying to find it.

Kelsey and I walked a total of almost 2 hours... we walked to the running path, did the 5K trail, and walked back... for a total of almost 6 miles.

We had planned on meeting down at the softball field at 4:45 to finish weeding, so even though it started raining around 3:30, we decided to still bike down there and do it, and because we were supposed to have practice at 6.

It ended up raining the whole time, and only came down harder around 6:15, so instead of having the girls hit live off of the pitchers like we planned, we just did a round of BP with front toss, with Kelsey and me taking turns pitching. So practice was only about 45 minutes... but then we had to bike back in the rain.

Micke's sister and brother-in-law were over with their 2 kids cooking dinner for us, so I was able to shower and get warm before eating.

We had our 1st course of 2 scallops each with mushrooms and a homemade sauce around 8:45. Then they started cooking the 2nd course of beef filets and noodles with tomatoes, asparagus, and a homemade sauce. We ate that around 9:45. Then they made apple pie with vanilla cream, which we ate at 11:30. Everything was DELICIOUS! Tonight was a cheat night for me :) I've been good/running hard all week so I don't feel guilty about it :)

I was able to skype with mom and dad today, and talk to Greg... so now I'm in bed :) It'll be nice falling asleep to the sound of rain outside my window tonight :)

Thursday, August 18, 2011

Day 87

This morning I woke up around 8:45 and went upstairs to get some cereal. I watched a little tv while eating, and then as soon as I was done I got dressed and went for a 6.25 mile run. As I was running on the running path in the woods, I was listening to my ipod, and a guy went running by me and scared the CRAP out of me because I thought I was being ambushed.

As soon as I got finished with my run, I drove My and Pontus to their dad's house in Balsta, which is about 25 minutes away, and Kelsey rode with me. When I got back, I made some coffee and just lounged around most of the day.

Karin called me around 3, and asked if I could drive Tove to the train station so she could take the bus at 3:30 to her dad's, so I did that.

Around 5, I drove to the store to buy 5 cartons of milk, so Karin could finish making the lasagna before we left for practice at 6. It started raining around 5:30, so practice got cancelled... which was best because I was starving and we sat down to eat at 5:45. After we ate, Karin made a grocery list for me and I took the car to the store again to buy 6 more cartons of milk and some more groceries for the weekend. It's amazing how fast the milk goes around here. There were 12 empty cartons on the counter from like a 3 day period the other day.

Once I got back from the store, I FINALLY showered :) I didn't want to shower after my run if I was just going to get dirty again at practice... but now practice is moved to tomorrow at 6.

After my shower, I watched the first episode of The Nine Lives of Chloe King on my laptop, then Kelsey biked over and we popped some popcorn and watched A Perfect Getaway.

Now I'm all ready for bed and waiting for my mom to get home from work so I can skype with her and then go to sleep!

Wednesday, August 17, 2011

Day 86

This morning I woke up around 10:45 (for the 2nd time) to Karin calling me. I woke up at 8:15 originally to the girls BLASTING justin bieber songs outside my door while they were getting ready for school.... If I NEVER hear a bieber song again, it won't be soon enough!

I met Kelsey down at the softball field so we could pull more weeds. My met met down there around 1:15, and the 3 of us biked to the grocery store to buy groceries. Once we biked back to the house, My and I cleaned the kitchen, and then I went for a short run... I did a timed 2-mile run, which I did in 15:30.

After my run, I relaxed until 4:30, and then I biked back to the softball field to meet Kelsey so we could plan practice for the little girls at 5 and our practice at 6.

We were down there from 4:45 until 9 pm. I hadn't eaten much throughout the day so I was STARVING.. so once we got back to the house, I showered and then fixed myself a sandwich. Then I tried skyping with Greg but it was messing up so I chatted with him and some friends on facebook.

Now I'm about to read a little and go to sleep!

42 MORE DAYS UNTIL I'M HOME!!!!

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Day 85

This morning I woke up around 9 and was STARVING, so I went upstairs and had a big bowl of cereal (as usual) :) I watched a couple Pretty Little Liars episodes on my computer afterwards, and then decided to go for a run. I ran 6.25 miles, and as soon as I got back, I had to get on my bike and bike down to the softball field to meet Kelsey there at 1.

We were supposed to meet a maintenance guy there so he could give us a machine that would let us weed the field and trim up the edges of the grass... but he drove up and said the "machine is kapoot." So then he said he would go to the store and buy us weed killer spray, and when he came back he said the shelves were empty. So he gave us a little tool and we started hand pulling the weeds.

My showed up about 2:15 to work on pitching, hitting, and fielding. While catching her, I got nailed in my chin with the ball.. it bounced up and hit right up under and made me bite down on really hard. No harm done except a bruised chin.

After we worked with her for an hour and a half, Kelsey and I stayed longer to pull some more weeds for about 45 minutes. When we were done, we biked back home, where I showered and made some coffee.

We ate dinner around 5 pm... we had noodles with some kind of sauce that cut up pieces from a huge sausage link.

Since dinner I haven't been doing anything except on my computer. I folded some of My's laundry because I got so bored at one point.

Kelsey and I did decide that we think it would be better, starting next week, to have small practice sessions for an hour with up to 3 of the girls at a time instead of team practices. So I made a spreadsheet that the girls can fill in their names in a time slot that works best for them... and then on Thursdays we will have team scrimmages. I emailed the spreadsheet to Kelsey so she could print it out and bring it to practice tomorrow.

I am probably just going to head to bed shortly. I'm getting really hungry even though I had a couple oranges about an hour ago.... one reason I don't like eating an early dinner.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day... but I'll let yall find out why tomorrow :) Goodnight!

Monday, August 15, 2011

Day 84

This morning after having some cereal and reading some of my book, I got dressed and rode my bike down to the plumbing business to meet Karin. We had to finish filling out my paperwork to get my stay in Sweden approved for extension, and then we drove the 30 minutes to Vasteras to the place.

We got there at 12:15 and took a number. They didn't open til 12:30, and we weren't seen until 2:45, and it only took like 5 minutes in the room.

So we drove back, I biked back to the house, had some coffee and read outside, and then ate dinner around 5. My cooked noodles and swedish meatballs which I ate with some ketchup :)

We had practice from 6-8, so we biked down there around 5:45. After biking back to the house after practice, My and I took the car to go to the grocery store to get a few groceries. On the way, we stopped by the softball field again bc my cellphone had fallen out somewhere... we found it :)

Once we got the groceries inside, I showered and then skyped with my family and then Greg.

Now I think I will grab an apple and watch a movie or something :)

44 more days til I'm home!!!

Sunday, August 14, 2011

Day 83

This morning I woke up around 8:30, had cereal, and went back to bed until 11:30 :) I went to bed before 11 pm last night... I don't know why I was so tired.

Once I was up for good, I went for a 4.25 mile run around Enkoping. After running so far last night, my body was not in the mood for another run, but I pushed through it.

Once I showered and everything, I sat down to eat some lunch and read/watch TV for a little while. Around 2:45 pm, we went to the business to fill out paperwork to renew my visa. We are driving to Vasteras tomorrow to get that done.

When we got back about an hour later, I watched some more TV.... and then went upstairs to make the salad for dinner.

Around 5:30 we sang happy birthday to Louisa, watched her open her presents, and then went outside to eat. There were 15 people here eating... Karin, Micke, me, My, Tove, Pontus, Fanny, Kenny, Wilma, Louisa, Micke's sister, her husband, and their 2 kids, and one of Pontus' friends. We had TONS of crawfish, although I had 3 and wasn't in the mood for more, so I ate the other stuff which consisted of: cheese quiche, rolls with cheese and butter, deviled eggs, and salad.

Once we were done eating, I came to my room to watch the first 2 episodes of the new jersey shore season, and then I watched a movie and am currently in the middle of another movie. Not sure how much longer I'll be able to stay awake though.

Tomorrow will be a busy day, driving to get my visa renewed and then practice from 6-8. Hopefully I can squeeze in a workout somewhere in there.. if not, oh well :)

Day 82

Sorry for slacking on posting new blogs. I was so tired last night that I forgot all about it and went to sleep.

So, let's see.... yesterday My, Tove, and I got on the train at 10:10 am to go to Stockholm for a day of shopping. We ended up eating lunch that Karin treated us to in a big food house, so I decided on Thai food. I was going to be good and get a salad, but when I asked the lady what the differences in the salads were she showed me premade salads that didn't look very good.

After shopping for awhile, we got back on the train at 5 pm to head back. Karin and Pontus picked us up from the train station and we had to go get gas in the car and get it washed because they are selling it.

Once we got back, they said we would be grilling out, but not for awhile.. so even though I was exhausted, I decided I would go for a run. I ended up running 6.2 miles in under 52 minutes, but boy was I sore last night.

We ended up eating dinner around 8 and we had steak, pork, goat cheese and corn on the grill, salad, and potato salad. The lettuce in the salad was from Helena's (Karin's twin sister) garden, and there was a teeny slug in mine :( kind of ruined my appetite lol.

Afterwards, I came straight to my room and skyped with my grandma and pepaw, and then mom and dad. Then I read for a little, and was asleep before 11 pm.

Hopefully I'll remember to post a new blog tonight :)

Day 80 & 81.. saying bye to Greg :(

Yesterday turned out to be a much nicer day than the day before, weather wise.

While Greg slept in, I did a 30 minute workout on the elliptical and then showered. Once I woke him up, we watched some TV, and then I took him for a bike ride around town.

We biked to the grocery store so I could show him all the different Marabou chocolate bars and swedish foods. Then we biked around and I showed him the marina, the cinema, the Church up on the hill, the yummy cafe that I went to twice before for their good salads, the softball field, Ingrid's house, and then we biked back.

We ate some lunch once we got back and watched some more TV and packed up his suitcase. At 5:30 pm, we biked down to the softball field so I could catch Ingrid for 15 minutes before practice. Team practice was at 6, and we had the girls scrimmage each other for 7 full innings. Kelsey was the all time pitcher, I caught for both teams, and Greg was the all time right fielder. We had enough girls to have 2 teams fill in the other positions. It was very good practice for them to play different positions in a game-like situation.

Afterwards, we had about 20 minutes left of practice, so we played knockout with hitting. Kelsey front-tossed to them and I played shortstop so I could determine if it was a hit or not.

Once practice was finished, a few of the girls wanted to stay longer and get extra hitting, so Kelsey pitched to them while I helped correct their swings. We finally left the field a little after 8:30 pm and biked back to the house, where dinner was waiting for us.

We had spaghetti noodles with the sauce I like... called shet fash sauce?? I know that's not how it is spelled but that's what it sounds like :) After dinner, I showered and then we headed to sleep a little while after that.

This morning I had to drive Micke to work so that I could have the car and the GPS to take Greg to the airport. We left a little after 7 am, got lost for a few minutes, and I had to call Karin bc I didn't understand what the swedish GPS was asking me to do.

Once we got that settled, we were on our way. We got to the airport a little before 8:30, and I had to park on the curb and tell Greg bye outside :( It was sad watching him walk away. Our 9 days together flew by, but I know that it's that much closer to when I'm able to go home and see everyone!

On the way back from the airport I was stuck in dead still traffic for 15 minutes before we started moving... I think from a bad accident. On the way home, I stopped by the plumbing business to pick up Karin and Ludde (the dog) to take them back to the house so Karin and Micke would have the car to get back home.

I went back to sleep for about an hour and a half, and then after watching TV for awhile, Kelsey came over and we watched a movie.

After the movie ended, we biked back to Ingrid's so I could clean the inside of her husband's car for some extra cash. That took about an hour and a half. Afterwards, I biked back, helped cut the bread for dinner, and then we ate crawfish soup with bread and butter and cheese for dinner. It was very tasty.

After dinner, we walked to the soccer fields to watch Tove's soccer game. My and I left early to go back to the house, and I worked out on the elliptical for 40 minutes and then showered.

I was finally able to skype with Mom and Dad tonight, and now I am heading to sleep. I'm waking up somewhat early to run, and then I'm taking the train to Stockholm with My and Tove for a day of shopping.

Day 78 & 79

Yesterday consisted mainly of traveling. We checked out of our hotel at 11 am, took the subway to the termini station, where we had to buy expensive train tickets to get back to the Fiumicino airport. Our flight left at 2:30 pm from Rome, and we had a 3 hour layover in Prague, where our flight left at 8:15 pm for Stockholm.

Karin picked us up from the airport and we got back close to midnight. I gave Greg the tour of the house and then we went to bed.

Today my plans of us biking around Enkoping to show him everything were ruined because it rained ALL day, so we mainly watched tv and movies. I did have practice from 4-6 in the gym, so Greg came and sat and watched that.

Afterwards, we biked back to the house and ate dinner with Karin, Micke, My, Tove, and Pontus. They cooked pork filets in a mushroom gravy, boiled potatoes, and salad.

After we ate, I drove us (me, Greg, My, and Pontus) to the candy store so Greg could check it out and buy some candy. He loved the store and got 2 bags... one of candy and one of chocolates.

Once we got back to the house, we all watched The Tourist, and then we popped some popcorn and watched The Rite, which just ended.

Hopefully tomorrow will be nicer so that we can bike around!

Day 76 & 77

Yesterday, we had our breakfast delivered to our room at 9 am. Greg had a marmalade croissant and I had cornflakes. At 10:30 we took the metro to the colosseum stop and stood in line to buy tickets to go inside.

After the colosseum, we stopped and had a light lunch at a small cafe. I ordered a cheese and grilled veggie focaccia sandwich, and Greg ordered a focaccia pizza. After we ate, we walked to the Pantheon which was about an hour walk. After the Pantheon, we walked to the Trevi Fountain, where we stopped for gelato and pictures.

Then we walked to the Fontana del Tritone, then walked to the Hard Rock Cafe to find it. Once we found it, we sat outside for a little while, then decided to walk to the Spanish Steps. While taking pictures on the steps we were ambushed by an italian guy who tied bracelets on our wrists, and of course we had to pay for them. We sat by the fountain at the bottom of the steps for about 15 minutes, and then walked back to the Hard Rock Cafe where we had dinner. I ordered a HUGE platter of grilled chicken nachos with a drink. The nachos were SOO GOOD! Greg ordered twisted chicken mac n cheese. After we ate and looked around in the shop, we walked back to the metro to take us back to our stop.

We were back in pretty early, but we walked ALL DAY and were exhausted so it felt nice to just relax.

This morning we slept in and had breakfast delivered at 10:30. I ordered the cornflakes again but with yogurt as my "drink" so I could mix the cornflakes with that instead of the whole fat milk they kept giving me to pour in my cornflakes... NO THANKS. After we ate, I was still tired so we went back to bed for about an hour, and then I got up and got ready.

Today we went to the main shopping street, Via Cola di Rienzo, which is very close to our hotel, only like a 15 minute walk. We walked that whole street, Greg stopped and had gelato, and then we turned around and headed back to our hotel. We didn't really have a lunch... I had an apple and the rest of my trail mix from home, and Greg had the gelato. Once we were back in the hotel, we decided we just wanted to relax for about an hour and a half since it was so hot outside.

We left the hotel again around 4:45 pm, and took the metro to this other stop to walk around some. We found a cute outdoor restaurant to eat dinner around 6. We ordered parma ham and fresh buffalo mozzarella cheese as an appetizer, and then I ordered a cheese and mushroom pizza and Greg ordered a ravioli dish stuffed with mushroom cream sauce.

When we were done eating, we were waiting for them to collect our money and check, and this guy came rushing over apologizing that it took so long and gave us free limoncello shots.

After we ate, we walked around some more, and then took the metro back to our stop. From there we walked to our hotel to drop off some things, and then walked back to the shopping street to the Portofino Gelatteria Cafe where we had our dessert :) pictures of our dinner and dessert are on facebook. It was DELICIOUS! I'm so glad I don't live in Italy bc I would be a gelato addict and 500 lbs.

We got back to our hotel room about 15 minutes ago (9 pm) and are in for the night. We check out at 11 am tomorrow, so we have breakfast coming at 10 am. I ordered a chocolate croissant with nutella this time :) and some hot tea.

I guess once we check out, we will make our way to the airport, even though our flight doesn't leave until 5:30 pm.

We've had a GREAT time in Rome and I can't wait for Greg to meet the whole family back in Sweden!

Don't forget to check our pictures on Facebook!

Day 75, 1st full day in Rome!

The alarm failed to go off this morning, so we were awoken by our breakfast being brought to our room. I ordered a cappuccino and toast with butter/marmalade; and Greg ordered orange juice with a chocolate croissant and nutella spread.

After we ate, we both got ready, and headed out around 10:30 AM. We walked the short distance (5 minutes) to the Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel... and while we were standing in line, we were approached by people who kept telling me I needed to buy a shoulder cover up thing and a skirt in order to go into the Sistine Chapel. So finally, we decided to walk back to the hotel so I could put a dress on that at least went to my knees, and then I bought a shoulder cover up for 4 euros.

We were inside the Vatican for about an hour and a half. The place is HUGE. After we toured that, we decided to have lunch, so we found this small italian restaurant where we both ordered spaghetti and salad.

After we ate lunch, we went back to the hotel so I could put something more comfortable on and some tennis shoes and we left to find the Metro so we could get to Trastevere. We bought a 3 day metro card, and took that to Roma Termini, where we were supposed to get on San Peter's station all the way to Trastevere, but we couldn't find that anywhere, so we asked a grumpy information guy who told us to get on this other train that left in 9 minutes... well it took us 8 minutes to find the platform, then we had to figure out how to buy a train ticket, and then we ran and got on the train, only to be told to run back and have our ticket stamped by some machine. Luckily, the train was running 5 minutes late and we were able to make it, and it ended up taking us straight to Trastevere.

Once we got there, we walked a little ways and found a small gelati cafe that had all kinds of flavors. I ordered nutella mixed with snickers gelati in a cone, and Greg ordered a flavor labeled "guiness world record."

After we cooled off with our gelati, we began walking around Trastevere... we found our way to the river and where we were on the map, and ended up walking all the way back to our hotel which took about 2.5 hrs.

Once back at our hotel, we freshened up, I changed back into my dress, and we headed out to see what kind of place we could find for dinner. We ended up eating at this little italian place up on the corner near our hotel. I ordered the pizza caprese, and Greg ordered noodles with meat sauce. Both were very good... I'm loving this italian pizza.

After dinner, we walked to a small grocery store where Greg bought us a pack of waters, and then we went back to our hotel for the night.

We have breakfast being delivered at 9 am again tomorrow, and after that we're hoping to go to the Colosseum, Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain.

Pictures have been posted so take a look! Stay tuned for more to come...

Day 72, 73, 74

Let's see....
Wednesday morning I woke up around 5:15 am so I could get in a workout before showering and getting ready to go to the airport. Karin drove me to the train station at 7 am, where I hopped on a bus 10 minutes later that took me straight to the Arlanda Airport. I arrived around 8:10 am to the arrival area, and waited about 30 minutes until Greg walked out. It was SO GOOD to see him! :)

While at the airport, we bought a strip of subway/bus tickets to use while in Stockholm, and then we got on the bus that took us to the city terminal in Stockholm, where we took the subway to Ropsten, and then hopped on a bus to Torvikstorg, and then walked to our hotel.

We were able to check in around 10 am, and able to eat the breakfast provided since they didn't close til 10:30. Once back in the room, Greg slept til about 3, and then we got our stuff and headed back into Stockholm to walk around and eat dinner. We ate at Jenson's Bofhus (Steakhouse). I had a piece of grilled chicken that was like the size of my finger, but it came with an all you can eat salad bar so that was good. Greg got pork chops and a sampler basket... and his meal came with dessert so he got a waffle with ice cream and chocolate and strawberry drizzle called the Queen's Delight... and I got ice cream.

After we ate, we headed back to our hotel room and had an early night since we were both tired.

Yesterday, we had a big breakfast in the hotel so that we could try and hold off until dinner. We headed toward Stockholm around 12:30 pm, walked around a lot and found Old Town. We got hungry around 2, so we bought a tiramisu chocolate square from a little chocolate shop to share and it was SOOO GOOOD! As we were walking, we saw this pizza and pasta restaurant that smelled so good as we passed it, so we kept that place in mind... and by the time we were looking to stop for dinner, it took us about an hour to retrace our steps and find that restaurant, but we found it! It was really neat, because once you get inside, they give you a card, and you go to whichever station you want and order something, swipe your card so that the order is on the card, and then at the very end, take your card to the cashier and pay for it. That way, if you order something, eat it, and are still hungry, you just take that card and order something else. I ordered a big personal pizza and ate every bite, it was delicious. Greg ordered a pasta with crayfish and lobster sauce.

After we ate, we made our way back to the train station to head back to the hotel. Once we were back we relaxed a little, and then walked down to the hotel restaurant and had a drink. We ended up watching a couple movies in the room.

This morning, after I worked out and showered, we went down to eat breakfast. Now we are packing all of our stuff up so we can check out by 12. Then we will go ahead and make our way back to the airport.
Our flight to Rome leaves at 5:30 pm, with a stop at Prague where we have to catch a connected flight. We should be landing in rome around 10 pm... and will somehow have to find a way to our hotel.

Stay tuned for more!

Day 70 & 71

Alright, sorry I didn't post a blog for yesterday.. but there wasn't anything to post. I was sick in the morning and did absolutely nothing all day but sleep; I didn't get out of bed until 4:30 pm.

Today I was busy getting ready for my trip with Greg starting TOMORROW!! :))))) I jogged into town to the bank to get out money and put it into my swedish account, then I walked the 2 miles back to the house.

I started a couple loads of laundry while I laid out in the backyard. Once I was tired of laying out, I started packing my bag.

We ate an early dinner before we had practice at 6, and I was sad because my package from home didn't come today and I thought it would... but when I checked the mailbox there was a slip of paper telling me that they came by and no one was home (I guess I didn't hear them knock while I was laying out). So Micke quickly drove me into town so I could pick up my package before they closed at 6... we got back to the house at 5:50, and I had to grab my softball bag and hurry and bike down to the field for practice.

Since Ingrid and Kelsey are on vacation this week, I was the only coach at practice, so I made a schedule and everything :) I was so organized. Afterwards, we all biked back home, and I showered and watched a little tv. I started to watch Twilight: Eclipse, but turned it off because I was too tired.

So now I am about to read and head on to sleep since I'm waking up at 5:15 to exercise, shower & get ready, and then take the bus to the airport to meet Greg! I'm so excited!!!! I probably won't be able to sleep tonight, but we'll see!

I'll have my laptop with me, so hopefully I can upload pics as we take them, and update my blog... but if I don't, just be patient with me :)

Goodnight everyone! :)
