Day 9

Today wasn't too eventful so this probably won't be an interesting blog...

Kelsey came over this morning around 9:30 because we were going to bike down to the lake until lunchtime... but it was about 54 degrees and starting to rain so we rode our bikes back to her place and watching the movie, Taking Lives. After the movie I rode back to my place and skyped with Mom before she went in to work and then I made a sandwich for lunch.

After eating, Kelsey biked back over and she, My, Gabby, and I biked downtown to watch the "parade" for the high school graduation. All the guys were in black suits and the girls were in white dresses and they were all wearing white looking sailor hats. They were grouped onto trailers with music blasting, and they danced and screamed as they were being driven around the square. Then they got off the trailers and walked around the square... and then some of them had their own convertibles decorated so they sat on top of the cars and drove around. After taking part in that celebration, My and Gabby showed Kelsey and I the huge church downtown, so we walked inside and took some pictures, and then we walked through the cemetery that was behind the church.

After walking around for a little while we biked back to the house. I took about an hour nap and then had to get ready for practice. Only 10 people showed up for practice out of 18, and then 3 had to leave early so we had 7 for the last half. We finished around 8:15 and then biked back to the house for dinner. Micke and Karin made peppersteak, boiled potatoes, bread, salad, and they grilled tomatoes and red peppers on the grill. I had ice in my water for the first time since being in Sweden! The ice was in a little plastic wrap thing that you had to tear open to take out each individual piece... so I don't know if they just bought it or if there's more in the freezer somewhere! After eating, I helped clean the dishes and then My and I went ahead and made our sandwiches that we'll be packing to take for lunch in between our games tomorrow. Karin and Micke also bought yogurt that you drink from a bottle, so I've been informed I will also have one of those with my sandwich. Karin also brought home loads and loads of apples and bananas for the house which I'm excited about because I've been eating their apples like crazy.

But that's all that happened today. I'll be heading to sleep early tonight since I have to be up at 6:30am. We are leaving for our games at 7:30am and probably won't be home til 7:30 pm or later. It's going to be a very long day. But I was told tonight at practice that I will be playing 3rd base again for the first game and catching again for the second game, so wish us luck! :)
